Oh baby!!! That's a hot looking reel. I wonder where the type r falls in price wise. Anyone know? Looks like a Zaion drag star too

Thanks for the photo
Looks like standard model gets a plastic drag star(as with the Exceller) and the R gets the Zaion star.

Re: TATULA TYPE R
Looks like the R has some added porting for weight loss as well.
I'm just mad about the colors. Black and red is so played out. Why not black and purple like the EX or MX? Maybe black and a bright royal blue? There's been tons of reels with this same color scheme, just tired of it.

That sounds reasonable.africanbass wrote:Thanks for the photo

I wonder what else is upgraded? Most likely lighter weight and more/better bearings. The handle looks unchanged. Is the spool different other than being red? Probably 8:1 gear ratio. Has Daiwa ever made a Type R in multiple gear ratios? Doubtful they start now.
I can't wait to compare it to my Zillion SHA with SemperFi handle.

I'm not a fanboy of any particular company, but half of my reels are Daiwa. More than half if you count my spinning reels. I can't get enthused from that picture. My Zillions look better.

The Tatula Type R spool looks a lot like the T3 Ballistic and T3 MX spools
Re: TATULA TYPE R
I hope it's the same as the T3s. I want to put an rcs spool on there if possibleCarlos Carrapiço wrote:The Tatula Type R spool looks a lot like the T3 Ballistic and T3 MX spools

I'm pretty sure they are "soft touch" knobs on both.sac wrote:Are those EVA knobs??? If so, that's another plus in my book
