The US version uses a centrifugal braking system like that on the MGX and the Gen3 Premier. The magtrax system uses an entirely magnetic system

How big is the 1600? Same size as say a 5500?

If the new 1600 is anything of the same size as the older Morrum 1600s, they're roughly the size of a Daiwa 103 CVZ and Shimano 100 Calcutta/Conquest. It's smaller than the 5500

Can't stand current pricing for Japanese products in US. Local distributors accidentally forgot, what 1usd is not equal to 75 yen anymore, it close to 100. Check amazon.co.jp prices, and compare them to TW and the rest, big difference.
