Daiwa advantage spool swap

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Daiwa advantage spool swap

Post by Afrayedknot » Sat Dec 21, 2013 2:58 am

Do any aftermarket spools fit the daiwa advantage 153 hsta "super tuned" version?

Also, how big is this reel in height compared to a tatula, curado 200e, or revo gen 3's? What about in width?

Thanks!

There are no after market options for the advantage reels. The early non supertuned reels had a deep spool. I am not sure if the alphas 150 spool is different but is thesame reel.

I have the ordinary 153 HST that has the same frame. It's a robust reel but I have no problems palming it.

I wonder if the spool from the Alphas Finesse Custom could fit?

That won't work two different reel platforms . Only the alphas 150 is the same size as advantage reels.

Not sure where or if you can get them, but Daiwa did make some Advantage based reels with different spool capacities.
