Core MG 50

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Does the Core MG 50 cast light stuff as well as the older Chronarch MG 50 that it replaced?

May people will argue the CH50 MG is a better casting reel than the Core 50. I will buy that maybe, slightly, it could be the case. I never threw super light lures with either. Down to 5/16 oz jig...in most applications that I used both for, the difference was minimal at most for me.

in my hands, the older mg50 was a tad better caster with 1/8 oz. beetle spins, rooster tails and such.

when you get to 1/4 oz., there is little difference.
