Can i vote none?

I loved the 100D, but disliked the large profile of the 200D. In the E Series, I really enjoy the 50 but dislike the 200. If pressed, I'd pick E over D simply because the 50 size is better for me and the kind of fishing I do.

To those marvelling at the durability of the 50e, I have one that has been on my punch rod for 2 years with carbontex drags on lockdown. Not one issue yet. I do service and inspect my reels every year, and I can't find one flaw or sign of wear.

I have only fished the D and E series(all 4 reels). I really like the 50e a whole bunch, especially with an Avail spool for ultra-light casting.

To be fair I've never fished the d model or older but the e series got me away from revos lol I ended up owning all curados and shimanos after fishing with the e series reels never had a problem out of any of them. So I had to vote e

I've not encountered any durability issues with my E series reels but I just feel like the D series would be the most durable over a lifetimes worth of fishing.

I'm very excited about the new Curado's and can't wait to pick one up. I think I'm going to try and be one of the first ones to the Shimano booth at the Classic show.
Well said.

I do enjoy fishing with my 51E's.

I really love the B and D, but they are not comfortable to fish with cause of their size. The E is so much smaller and more comfortable so I had to vote E.

50e for sure. It's been my favorite workhorse reel for a couple of years now.

I had my 50E tuned and I find myself reaching for it more than my Cores. It may be small but it has the "guts" to handle any situation I have had it in .

I voted E as well. Never fished the D series. Still fishing the B's, but they seem outdated compared to the E's. Never got around to trying the G.

for a day on the water, i would pick the E series any day.....but still, to me, the cu-200b is one of the greatest bait casting reels of all time. what an amazing reel for it's time; great performance and a price that most fisherman could afford easily

Whenever I see a post with "greatest of all time" in it, I always think of this:

I voted for the "Double Ds", like in Dolly...or is that a triple (if the 300D is added in)? :big grin:

I still feel that if HEG was in the 100D, along with all the same gear ratios from the E; the 100D platform would easily hold the crown vs the 50E.

I agree as well. I just got a 50mg spool for mine, and have yet to cast it with the new spool. One thing I notices is that the tolerances are unbelievably tight on that reel.

I never owned one when they were in production, but the 100/101B gets little mention, but it was a better reel at 140 than the 100/101D was at 200.

I actually like the handle on the 101b vs that little short one on the D, and the spool difference isn't as big of a difference as the forums would make out on the B vs. the D. Also the B has brass gears.

LOL, and in different strokes for different folks, I made my 51mg into more of a general duty reel by adding brass gears and your 100D spool.

Whatever the case the 50mg/100B/100D/Ci100DSV is/was a GREAT little reel platform, HEG notwithstanding.
