T3?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

T3?

Post by KDogg14 » Fri Aug 01, 2014 11:26 am

First time post but I've been lurking a bunch on here! I'm thinking of buying a T3 once TW has an upcoming sale. For the current price I'm interested in getting one to try out for my pitching setup with 14 - 17 pound mono (no braid) for 3/16 to 1/2 ounce baits. I'll admit, I'm a die hard shimano guy but I bought 2 Tatula Type R's this past spring and I'm impressed with Daiwa! I already have a curado I which is great for swim jigs but I'm looking to try something different for my pitching setup! BTW I have a rod that I have in mind to use but since you all know your stuff… What rod should I pair this up with for what I described?

Well… I just ordered a T3 with the 7:1 ratio along with a 7'3 heavy Omen black rod! Setup should be here Wednesday as I'll be using this for my trip to Champlain to practice for the upcoming BFL. Question… I've replaced my Tatulas with the RCS knobs because I like the feel of them. If I'm not happy with the stock T3 knobs, can I replace them with a set of RCS knobs?

Did you order the 1016? Aren't those knobs essentially the same thing as the RCS knobs W/O the "RCS" lettering?
