Daiwa reel foot protector
Came across this product the other day,it may be of use to some.
The T3 reel foot has some compatibility issues with certain reel seats(hence the small black pads in the T3 reel box)
I have experienced this with the air beam seat in particular. This was also stated in one of the TT reviews if I remember correctly.
May also be of use with MG reels for added reel foot protection.

Where can I get a couple?
Painted reels need the same foot protection

These images came from a Japanese auction site a while back. The part number/code/price is visible on the last image.
Any of the good Japanese tackle merchants should be able to help you.I know Plat will(not trying to punt, just a reflection of their past customer service).
Hope this helps

Anybody worth their salt knows duct tape is the only way to go. That gray weave looks good on anything.dragon1 wrote:Gaawwd...I'm such a hillbilly!

Re: Daiwa reel foot protector
Just an update:
Ordered a bunch for my MG/Zaion reels, they are great
Should come standard with reel, keep your oil.
Sourced by Plat for me, however feel free to support your trusted retailer.

I just use heat shrink tube for the same application, so the ends don't get scratched.

How do they fit and what models are you using them on. When I researched that part number it came up as a "Stand Cover" for a Seaborg. I'm looking to put them on PX68 and Steez/IS reelsafricanbass wrote:Just an update:

I've got a pair of the Abu version, and to be honest, i think the plastic is too thick.
Doesn't allow you to screw down the reel seat tight enough to give you confidence that the reel is secure.
But if you're using an Edge spinning rod, you'd want to protect the screw-side of the reel foot, because it will take paint off your reel foot if you don't protect it.

Fairly cheap to try though

Re: Daiwa reel foot protector
They are perfectly suited for use on the T3 reel foot. These are slightly narrower than the standard Daiwa reel foot.MondayMonkey wrote:How do they fit and what models are you using them on. Takes up any play and eliminates the phantom click experienced during casts on certain rods.
Most noticeable with air beam seats and T3s.
Does fit other Daiwa reels but appear to be a tad too thick once mounted.
Personally only would recommend for the T3 family.
Hope this helps.

Re: Daiwa reel foot protector
Has anyone else have experience in these reel foot protectors? I need some for my IS, Zonda, and TD variants ASAP.
