what a find!

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

what a find!

Post by BucketHunter » Mon Mar 23, 2015 11:33 am

Don't have time to post pics but searching a friends warehouse for a reel I wanted I found a crate with numerous Curado D variants 100, 101, 200/201 dhsv's and a couple of Citica 201E. About 15 new reels in total and all new in box.
Some reels are being swiped up by us, and the rest are likely going to Ebay. What a day! It was like we discovered a dinosaur skeleton!

Too bad they weren't Bs or Es. If I found a crate of Ds they'd all go on ebay.

E's are great. I have double digits. Still a few NIB sitting in small stores around though. But B's were pretty cheaply made IMO. Too much plastic. The D was the first upmarket shot and in a lot of peoples minds, were the best. I am on the fence with the E being so much lighter, offering more capacity and having much less backplay in the handle. Having handled a brand new D for the first time in many, many years yesterday, I must say that it one smooth reel.

I much prefer the D to the E, so much so I sold my E and kept my D as my only Shimano baitcaster.

A 101D is just a sweet reel. Solid build and a great caster. I love mine. For the right price, I'd definitely get another.

Yep the D is the best Curado yet by far, please keep us posted I sold a NIB 201 DHSV to finance a 201i HG I was itching for, that was a dumb move. Newer is not better ](*,) .
