Smoothest Baitcaster

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I haven't paid more than 250 for a reel, kinda my cut off. That being said, my Shimano Scorpion XT is pretty smooth. It's also well broken in.

Metanium 2013. Hard to imagine anything could be smoother.

Mine don't feel super smooth, my chronarch 101 D7 felt smoother, maybe because its brand new and needs
to be broken in a bit :-k

Have to say my 14 Conquest is the only reel I've owned and which is so smooth I have to check if I've got my drag set properly (not completely loose).

Mine was silky smooth out of the box in the 6.2 ratio. Also very smooth under load with large barramundi. No gear vibration and no noise. The micro gears and x- ship do make a difference.
