Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

2015 Conquest Calcutta 101 HG questions

Post by dinosorcerer » Thu Jul 16, 2015 5:26 am

I just recently got a 2015 Conquest Calcutta 101, and at the guide part doesn't seems to be fully attached or it wiggles. Is it suppose to be like that?

Also, I want to upgrade the conquest anyway possible to make it even more awesome. Any recommendations?

I can check mine later for ya. I recall something about the levelwind not being able to crush your finger, so it might have something to do with that.

They're pretty sick as stock, but the obvious tweaks are longer handle and maybe some high end spool bearings, though the stock bearings seem quite good. Also those Hedgehog Studio clutches look fine as hell.

Thanks for the recommendation!

I ask about it because sometimes when I cast and the occasional bird nest, a line loop goes in that guide and takes awhile to get it out of it. So therefore, its not attached but... is there a way to fix that or just learn not to bird next anymore.

Wiggle is 100% normal. Flip on another brake, practice a bit with heavier lures, or adjust the spool tension a bit to slow down those back lashes!
