Oh well I'm sure it will be a nice reel. If you have one, post pics...and maybe give us an overview of the reel in terms of smoothness and refinement...and how it compares to the other zillion variants.

While it's unfortunate we can't revamp our old trusty Zillions with this spool I have full faith that it will be a performer. Now to buy one of each, this is TT after all.

Yeah. That spool is basically a shallow SV spool with a touch more distance and a touch more chance for backlash. Just have to use braid or light line.

I'll try and post some pics this evening. I never posted pictures on this site before. The model I received is the XS 7.9 purple/black. It seems to be a very smooth and refined reel. I don't have any old zillions to compare it to only TDZ's and TDx's.

If it is the same diameter as a Steez it sounds like a Zillion 1016 is in order.

I don't have a steez to try the spool in. The one thing I noticed this reel is lacking is the clicking cast control cap. It is just a standard non indexing cap.
