SV 103?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I hope they moved it up, I was told they weren't being released until January.
Hey, Bronzefly, when you get the scoop let us know! I'm debating the SS air 8.1 or the aforementioned 103....the air doesn't seem to be too versatile though.
I have the alphas sv and ss air and if its versatility your after it will be the sv103 all day. The ss air is a niche reel and it excels at what it was designed to do but not much else. If you want to zing 1/16oz rooster tails a good ways without fear of backlash the ss air rocks. If you want a good do it all reel sv103 is the way to go.
I know it. I love my ss sv, but I have it mounted on a 6'5" ML rod. For that I don't know that there is any better reel, but you wont catch me throwing it on my flip rod or casting 10xd's with it.

Does anyone have any new more specific info on when we might see these in stock? I need a few stocking-stuffers for myself.

American Legacy Fishing shows them in stock: http://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/da ... -reel.html

It may be a good idea to call the guys just in case though. ;)

First shipping from Japan is going to have 600 reels total, devide it on 4 models = 150 reels per model.

That doesn't seem like very many reels. I guess that I need to preorder one like I did with my 50th Anniversary to guarantee that I get one. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the reply, that's what i assumed you meant.
I doubt Daiwa would only ship out 150 per model, that would almost make them a limited run lol.

Come on daiwa, get them released I can't wait any longer. I don't understand what daiwa is trying to achieve by not being clear on a release date.

What are they waiting for?
I do have one on order with my local supplier....He ordered an additional 7. 4 of the 6.3 and 3 of the 7.9.
If i like what I see when I get my 7.9....I will also pickup a 6.3 from him.

That is why I called Daiwa yesterday and they told me mid-december....but also told me the 8 foot Glass Zillions were not gonna be in till end of month as the 8 they did receive were to fill Salesman samples...then I notice that TW just put them on their website today as 3+ available.

-So who knows? ...alot of Turnover at Daiwa-USA HQ recently
---My post above from a month ago...not much has changed.

The bigger corporation more stupid they are in own decisions and market research. Same thing how reel makers are not making many models in lefty retrieve, however according to guys like Kazu from his selling experience, "As for world wide 70% left and 30% right hand" and usually lefties are getting quicker to sell out.
Besides this forum maybe it's not really a big interest for that reel.

Who knows maybe it just a first shipment, and Daiwa wants to see how quickly it's going to sell out.
It's not really a huge market for high end reels, I doubt Cabelas or BPS are going to put that reel into a catalog.
