Do not drink and drive... (Shimano Metanium)
Re: Do not drink and drive... (Shimano Metanium)
I hope you got a good deal on your Metanium auction. What did you end up paying and was it mint?
Re: Do not drink and drive... (Shimano Metanium)
Approx 215 eur or 250 usd incl shipping. It is supposed to be new with no defects in any way. Have not received it yet - I keep my fingers crossed.Pen3 wrote:I hope you got a good deal on your Metanium auction. What did you end up paying and was it mint?
If new, I can only say that I got at a great price...however, some - my wife among them - may wonder why I need it...
Re: Do not drink and drive... (Shimano Metanium)
The Met i picked up last month from Japan for $285 minus the spool.

A stunner! Awesome. What spool is that ?Pen3 wrote:The Met i picked up last month from Japan for $285 minus the spool.

The Avail spool that i bought from Ian aka e_bassfisher.
Re: Do not drink and drive... (Shimano Metanium)
Just wanted to conclude that I absolutely love the Metanium. Great reel. Got it roughly one week ago and first trip out I got two nice sea-run brown trout (about 42 and 50 cm). The reel - not I - handles 6-7 gram spinners beautifully. However, I feel that I need a ligther spool for lures <=5gram... Now have to decide between yumeya (with brakes) or avail... Thanks for input.

My last SWI (Shopping While Intoxicated) incident only cost me about $600. The first $300 buying what I thought I wanted and the second $300 to buy what I was really after once I sobered up.....oh well my son got a $300 Scotty Cameron putter out of the deal

and by the way, I hope your beer was a Belgian import; maybe a 9% westmalle triple. That would make the behavior quite reasonable :lol
Yeah for Belgian ales! Duvel, Chimay, Delerium, Korsendunk, Triple Karmeleit, etc.....9-11 % by volume is good stuff!
Now for German Beers: Celebrator, Optimator, Salvator, Oktoberfest Marzen!
Can't forget the excellent French Canadien brewery that makes: Maudite, Trois Pistoles, and Lucifer ales!
Ah, the good old days; when I had next to no responsibilities.

Don't forget the Westmalle Tripple I've had the best rated best beer on earth and did not think much of it, still have the bottlecap which sells for $15 on ebay. forget the name of the stuff but even the Belgians have to wait in line for it.
by the way, the US has its first tapestry brewed beer out of a small town are near Boston. Very nice. I've tried the Canadian tapestry as well. The German beers are nice but too strict. I call it excellence via precise refinement whereas the Belgian Monks don't know any rules exist
