Conquest 100hg came in (size comparison)

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Conquest 100hg came in (size comparison)

Post by arrowslinger1 » Mon Nov 30, 2015 9:26 pm

Finally got my 100hg in the mail.
Beautiful little reel, palms excellent, paired it up with an nrx 842.
Also some size comparisons to an aldebaran and metanium.

Wait until you actually get to use it! I have a hard time putting it down.

Which is probably why I caught so many fish on the crankbait this year.

Enjoy =D>

I have the 14 Conquest 100 and it is the one reel that I look forward to fishing the most. My second favorites are the Calais 100a's :D

Man, that is sure a beautiful reel! It is so refined, and so small, I have to wonder how in the world Shimano did it. But, then again, they make good stuff all around.
And I am not a Shimano fan boy...I just appreciated something that is so elegant and functional at the same time.

Form and function, there should be a place reserved in the Met. I've got mine paired with an nrx 843; replaced the original handle with a 95mm avail. Stunning!

So small!

A little more drag and it would be my perfect reel, I guess thats why we have thumbs though.

That is one awesome reel. I got a td Luna 103L not too long ago which I think is about the same size as that conquest and I'm a huge fan. The craftsmanship involved in making the round reels is truly artisanal. They are definitely not easy to put down. Plus they help balance out tip heavy composite rods. Looking at a Luna or millionaire 203L now for some deep cranks!

That is a beauty !! In thinking bandit getting one but I'm not sure since I like a reel that's multi faceted besides just cranking and reeling . Not sure if the round reel is comfortable enough. The hg will for the bill gear ratio wise but the standard is a tad slow for anything besides cranking ...

My goodness that is tiny, I don't know what I'd use it for but I am contemplating trying to get one.
