New Curado 70

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

HGs are usually about 7.5:1 and XGs are usually 8.5:1

Monsterfishing does not list a 6.X:1 version. I believe there is an error in thier line capacity for 10#

I was hoping to see a finesse 200i BUT at 6.5 oz, really!? That's almost 2 oz more than my alde '15. 6oz+ reels just feel heavy these days!

If you zoom in on the gear cover it looks like it may say 8.2:1 ... ?

Body looks almost identical to the current Metanium.

Looks like a more condensed compact 200i.
Which is what it is......
I dont think it looks like any of these other shimano reels.

It looks to be the Curado frame but with different tooling for the sideplates. Looks like they moved the external dial. I wouldnt be surprised if the palming sideplate was slimmer.

From the angle of the picture, i think it looks better than the 200 size.
I guess we'll see once it gets here.

I wonder if a citica 70 is also coming :-k

This reel clearly shares a similar profile to the current 200i series. Whether or not it's the same size is yet to be known since there's no side by side comparison. 6.5oz is still light. I like it so far. I'm sure I'll be picking one up when they become available. Thanks Shimano!

I doubt it since there has never been a citica 50
