Baitcaster for light lures

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I'm absolutely loving my SV105. Stock out of the box it's just the cat's azz for launching light baits.

I will get that air spool for the tatula considering I already own a tatula and make it a finesse machine... Also by that carbon handle gor it and it will look sweet.

That should work well also. Let us know how the spool performs for you in the user review thread.

What line would you recommend for an air spool

I'm a little late, but an Airy Red Pixilla is hard to beat. You can find one for a good deal these days, and do minor upgrades along the way. I spool all of mine with 7lb Sniper.

It is really user preference. 4-8lb mono or flouro of your choice, or 15lb braid are what I would recommend. If you use braid, put some mono backing on first and consider using a mono or flouro leader.

I agree! I bought 2 from Japan dealer used and am simply amazed at their performance with light baits.

I have one on a Jackson 6'4" Super Trickster and the other on a Megabass Hedgehog X4 and both with the 7# Sniper( which I find is their best line test)

alright so I was going to get a spool from ali express and I don't know if it is safe... but then again by the time you just go out and buy a spool and some line you might as well just buy a new caster

Look at the new Alpha Air. SW safe and designed for small baits and is sub $300 new from Plat meaning others should have it even cheaper since Plat is usually higher than jpangler or other places.

I live in Australia though so what is cheap to Americans is a little bit heavier on the pocket. But was looking at the Curado and Scorpion 70 reels planned for release this year!
