SS SV vs Steez SV
Pretty much just wanting to know if the braking profile is as strong on the Steez as it is the SS SV. I'm sure this question has been presented and answered, but who has the time . Thanks fellas
Re: SS SV vs Steez SV
I dont have a Steez SV but the SS SV is phenominal for the price....

I agree the SS SV is great when the spool rotor isn't stuck out.

The SS SV is my most used reel.JerryC wrote:Used mine heavily last year, never had a problem..smallykiller wrote:I agree the SS SV is great when the spool rotor isn't stuck out.
Never had one single problem all season long.
Re: SS SV vs Steez SV
I'm currently upgrading my reels and was considering the SS SV. Does anyone recommend it for for an all around purpose reel? Plan on pairing it with an Orochi EMTF. TIA!

Re: SS SV vs Steez SV
It's not a bad reel. Feels very nice for the price point. I just find myself longing for more in terms of casting capabilities. It's near impossible to backlash but doesn't really wing em out there like other SV reels can. That's why I'm hoping the Steez has a less strong braking profile. I'm using my SS on my dedicated Pop X rod which is a nice fit imo.

Re: SS SV vs Steez SV
Im loving the new Steez SV. I can sling 1/4-3/8oz baits quite a distance with 20# Seaguar Senshi line. Smooth and comfortable.
Re: SS SV vs Steez SV
In my opinion, that reel is too light to balance well on the EMTF, if you were considering it for tip up presentations.dkfreezy wrote:I'm currently upgrading my reels and was considering the SS SV. The EMTF isnt a heavy rod, per se, but at 7 foot 5 it balances much better with a reel in the 6.5-7 oz range.
Just my opinion.

Thanks for the info. i'll take that into consideration.
Re: SS SV vs Steez SV
I have both, prefer Steez SV by far due to a less progressive brake profile. SS SV is over braked.
Re: SS SV vs Steez SV
Are you referring to USDM or JDM steez SV? It was my understanding that the USDM steez was very similar to the SS SVabbor wrote:I have both, prefer Steez SV by far due to a less progressive brake profile. SS SV is over braked.

Re: SS SV vs Steez SV
So if I slip an Steez SV 105 spool into my SS, will I see better casting performance? Or is the stock spool essentially a Steez 103 SV spool and the problem is strictly due to the magnets?
