T3 gear swap
Anyone know if an 8.1 gear set will fit in a 6.3 T3, or is 7.1 all I'm gonna get?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: T3 gear swap
All depends on the T3 model.
For the MX/FX/Mago/Air you can inter change gear sets( main and pinion)
The 1016 series has its own different set up.They have plastic sleaved pinion bearings. As a result the pinion diameter is different to the afore mentioned reel ranges.
The 1016 will then require the gear sets from the 1016 range
Changing the pinion bearing should open you up to more options.
Hope this helps.

Does the ballistic 8.1 have that same pinion bearing and if not what size does it have?

Re: T3 gear swap
I just went with the 7.1 ballistic gears. Thought about the 1016 set, but it was $38 vs $20 and this is just a travel reel. My 1016 is 6.3 and I just needed to speed one of them up. Almost got the 1016 driveshaft, which was $21.50, but decided against it because I need that extra weight to balance my Ardito.
