I've seen several instances of Daiwa's Zillion TW SV reel described as "TW SV1016". What is "1016" referencing? Also, has anyone fished with one of these reels? If so, what are your thoughts?

That's referring to the size. The original was the 1516 this new smaller one is the 1016.

Smaller diameter? Shorter width? Please explain.

The search function is your friend . 1016 refers to spool size/capacity. Yes, this reel is smaller from the previous T Wing Zillion in some ways, but not in others. It sits a little lower and is a little more narrow across the top from side to side. Smaller spool and T Wing. Everything else is pretty much the same I believe.

Before zillion SV TW and steez SV TW have been announced. The common rule is: first two digits indicate the size of the spool （diameter), last two digits indicate the line capacity.
Example: 2020 means 200 size reel (38mm spool) and the spool holds 20 pound (japan/asia standard) mono/FC line 100 meters. 1516 means it is a 150 size (36mm spool) and holds 16 pound line 100 meters.

However, for zillion SV TW and steez SV TW, both marked "1016", the 16 is somewhat conflict with the previous rules. In fact, both reels can only hold 16 pound line 80 meters instead of 100 meters.

So do you think that would mean that all 15 size spools are interchangeable in the same reel. For instance...would a 1514 and a 1520 spool fit in my 1516 zillion TW reel.

The one thing that is confusing is that the equivalent 1516 zillion TWS in US is called a Zillion ZLNTW100H and is there fore a 100 size and not a 150 size spool and the spools are interchangeable.

I've come to the conclusion that sticking with the SV spool the reel comes with is the best thing to do. I put the spool from my SV103 into my Tdz 103. It fit, but didn't cast worth a darn. Put a Rcs 1012 SV spool in my SV103. It fit, but was insanely wild. Yet this spool is absolutely incredible in my Tdz and FX68. The rotor sizes are slightly different. Not sure about the spool in the Zillion SV TW or Steez SV TW.

Juhas anyone tried doing a gear swap from the 2015 zillion tws into the new zillion sv tw? I Really want the 9.1 ratio

The gears are a direct swap.

How about the HD Zillion TWS ?

Can one take either the JDM 1516 Zillion or the US version ZLNTW100P (5.5:1 Gear set) and put it in the HD Zillion TWS to SLOOOW it down ?
