New spool for zillion crazy cranker for light baits?
New spool for zillion crazy cranker for light baits?
Hey guys, I have a few zillion crazy crankers I've been using for crankbaits, wondering if there is a better spool to use to be able to throw lighter crankbaits better than stock spool. Maybe baits as small as 1/8 speed trap or #5 shad rap. Will be on 10-12lb mono
Thanks
Chris

There are maybe a few spools for the zillion. I've had a pe hlc spool but thought it was a bit wild. This was paired with a ml 7ft rod. OThers may have better input as I stopped using it when it didn't suit my reel needs. There's the ize hlc or tdz 100m that I've only used for swimbaits. Great for bigger baits, hopefully my experiences with the spools can help somewhat

The PE Special spools are rated down to 1/4 oz, don't think the Zillion is the ideal platform for #5 shad raps

Yeah I realize it isn't ideal, but I want something 19-21" per turn, my old Lews just won't cast as well on light stuff as the zillion

Have Ian make some delrin spacer rings and you can run 34mm TD-Z spools in it like the BE or TD-Z 105.
