Zillion SV Magsealed?

Post by Dam0007 » Wed Jun 08, 2016 4:49 am

Hey guys,

So got my 9.1:1 JDM models in and my 6.3 and 7.3:1 USDM models in. Don't see anything that tells me that either one has Magseal bearings. Japantackle says yes in description which I know the non SV, JDM models do but idk about these... Anyone?

Zillion TW SV doesn't have any magsealed bearings.
Daiwa 16 Zillion TW HLC, Hyper Long Cast reel does.

Odd that they would put them in the regular zillion and not the SV. Are they too slow for the SV spool or something? I'm new to the realm of Daiwa.

I'm not sure about how slow are they vs standard, but Daiwa seems to be put those magsealed bearings into kinda saltwater series reels. The first one was Morethan PE reel several years ago.

They do not use magsealed bearings on the spools they would be too slow. the only magsealed bearing in baitcasters is the pinion bearing. I have stripped down my sv 1016 zillions and the pinion bearing is different to any other bearing I have seen in a daiwa before and my be a magsealed bearing but I cannot confirm this. it is still a 8x12x3.5 so is easily replaced with another bearing.

No magseal bearings on Zillion SV. I dont think daiwa will be using them on baitcasting reels any longer, well i hope they dont since i dont find them to be good. The magsealed bearing under ccc in my morethan pe leaks and wont come out.

I will say this, after fishing all day back and forth between the 7.3 US and 9.1 JDM. They feel slightly different in smoothness
