Ito w/clear side plates

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Ito w/clear side plates

Post by mark poulson » Sat Dec 17, 2016 1:59 am

A few years back I had a fishing partner who bought one of these.
I've since lost contact with him.
All I remember was it was a special run, and it had clear side plates, so you could see the innards.
Does anyone here know which reel he had?

That sounds right. And the time frame is right. Thanks.

Great little reel BTW.
I have mine on a Smith Be Sticky with a Megabass finesse spool , Air Finesse HH in it and it is a blast . Mine was rough looking on Ebay . I don't mind buffing and pollishing reels at all. $82 tmd.

I saw that review Cal. That's how I found out when+- it was released.
My buddy who had it had gone into Performance Tackle and he saw it in the glass display case. It had been ordered by someone else who was late picking it up, so he was able to buy it. He said he practically ran to his truck, just in case the guy who had ordered it decided to pick it up right then.
He is a yuge Daiwa/MB fan, and his grin was epic when he made the first cast with it.

Was this the first time a plastic reel sideplate was used by a major reel manuf.?
