Tabula CT SV TWS

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Ah, the unsolved challenges evident in autotranslation: "the tattoir who wore not only TWS but also SV is Japan's nationwide Okkapari only" and "Zuba Zuba is decided at the point" remind me of trying to parse German existentialism.

So will this new Tabula CT SV TWS replace the Tatula?

In my opinion the Tatula SV wouldn't be a 100% replacement of the normal Tatula, because of the non-aluminium gearsideplate and the smaller line-capacity.

But nevertheless I am very excited about the Tatula SV. I think it would be a really good choice for a M-power-rod.

So Gary have you been able to drop the new tatula sv spool into the current CT tatula.

The CT has a 34mm diameter spool and the SV has a 33mm diameter spool (per Daiwa). On another thread someone mentioned putting the SV spool in a CT 50th anniversary when Daiwa had visited with its new products. They said CT spool was measured at 33.75mm but even that leaves a gap for your line.

Brian has done such things. He said it drops right in.

I'm sure it will but my concern is that it leaves a small gap for line and trash to get into.

We did. Here is the thread referenced:

Until we get stock and have time to make more detailed measurements, etc. it is certainly possible that there is a fraction of a mm gap. If that's the case, Daiwa will miss out HUGE on sales of that SV spool

It would be nice if the spools would direct replace but I don't think Daiwa would publish 2 different sizes for the spools (34 for CT and 33 for SV) unless there is a significant difference (Daiwa Steez Finesse 10lb line is roughly 1/4 of a mm).

Being interchangeable will be very nice. I have a few Ct reels I'd love to add this spool to and also replace some shimano a with this new sv.

Daiwa probably wants people to buy the whole reel instead of just the new SV spools and pop them into the old CTs.
