Not saying it's still my favorite but, 6.2:1 always got the job done and worked for all applications. I have gotten lazy and do prefer the 7 speeds, but I gotta remember to slow down sometimes.......

If I could only use one gear ratio it would be a 5:8.1 on my Calcutta 100's. I prefer a slower retrieve for more power, especial when throwing crank baits.

7 gears usually give me the IPT I'm looking for from deep crank to punch.

I think 7.1 is a good all purpose ratio. I prefer to have super fast gears for bottom contact and other slack line techniques. I got a 7.1 for squarebills. I have a 5.6 ratio 12 Antares for deep cranking.

I'm all over the place because I am specific
