TW clearance sale of Daiwa sv105 and sv103 ... ???

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I need to get around to picking up an sv103. Sooner rather than later. Probably outta snag a Perfet Pitch to pair with. When are the xx rods planning on being phased out?

I have been going back and forth on which OG Zillion reel I should add to my line up. It's been between the SV103 and the Deps Zillion...this puts the pressure on a little bit.

This is annoying news. I got a SV105 over Black Friday and so far it is the best casting reel I have tried, in terms of ease of use and how comfortable it is to hold and cast with.

Is there a 1:1 JDM equivalent, or should I snag a second one on ebay, where the prices are still sub $200?

The sv105 is an overpriced Alphas sv. I don't know why people keep buying them. I bought my Alphas sv the same year it was released for $187 at normal retail. It came out to ne $207 shipped to my door in 2015.

Are they still in production? I did a quick look around and most places have a really limited selection.

I've actually come around to the T-wing lately. I was not a fan of the first few generations of t wing, but it seems they've worked the kinks out, and owners of the Zillion SV TW and Steez TW love the casting distance. I wish the Zillion was smaller profile, as the Steez SV TW is

So is daiwa forcing us into the tws reels? I have never owned one but really never got excited about them. This may bring the price up on the og zillions if that is the only non tws heavy-duty reel we have to choose from. I am praying that they have something up their sleeve for a classic release.

I got my US version new for $216 shipped in 2015 so I guess I paid $9 for a one year warranty (that I didnt use) :crying:

That's not bad at all. I was under the impression that the SV105 was going for $270.

I personally don't hate it at all, just don't prefer it. I feel that it makes the reels taller in profile. It's why I have been looking at Shimanos more.
