Clicking Drag Upgrade Question for Sol/Alphas/Zonda

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Clicking Drag Upgrade Question for Sol/Alphas/Zonda

Post by goblue » Wed Feb 08, 2017 2:29 am

Sorry all, I posted this in maintenance section previously, but got no responses...
just throwing it out there again...

Anybody know if the Alphas Air/ Alphas SV drive shaft can be placed in
older alphas, zonda, and sol iterations to allow for a clicking drag?

I know the tackletrap drag clicker kit uses a modified px68 drive shaft, but
given the Alphas Air and SV come stock with a clicking drag, was wondering
if anybody has tried just using the stock drive shaft part from these reels for
the upgrade.

Appreciate any thoughts.

The SV105 drive shaft should work in them. I have not verified it, but will as soon as time allows.

Thank you very much for the response... I would assume they would fit because of the similar frame, but was just wondering if somebody had ever tried the modification.

thanks for the info Oleg... your clicking drag modification looks pretty awesome. However, my question was related to a clicking star drag, but I will certainly think over your product as well.
