Daiwa BG2500 handle knob...replaceable?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Daiwa BG2500 handle knob...replaceable?

Post by Big-Bass » Mon Feb 20, 2017 9:33 am

Could I replace the large t-shaped handle of the new Daiwa BG2500 with an RCS cork knob? Is this something simple I could do? Thanks!

I've only heard that they're riveted on. Daiwa parts list states "handle assembly".

Shimano was the same on some reels, however where serviceable but only sold as a whole replaced part.

Drill the shaft out and use a Ray's Studio shaft kit, which'll allow either Shimano or Daiwa knobs.
