Daiwa Silver Wolf SV 1016
Daiwa Silver Wolf SV 1016
Hi Guys
Long shot, but has anyone on here used the Daiwa Silverwolf 1016SV? Im wondering if its similar or the same as the Zillion Sv, looks very similar in body shape and performance. Its an AUDM product btw, not sure if its available in Japan. Very little info online.
And heres a link as well:

Looks awesome, like the colors because our town's school was orange and black. I wonder about the info though, said it had magforce Z and most SV reels list as having "air brake." The Steez A TW has an SV spool with Magforce Z though...

I have one of those saved in eBay, but can't seem to pull the trigger. Specs look good, and the colors sell it for me, but that price though...

Look at the cast control mentioned on each sitel. Aus says magforce while us says airbrake on the same reel
Wondering if its a typo? Could be the same on the silverwolf

Daiwa aus isnt exactly cheap... I get most of my gear overseas (Japan and US) but I've found one of these for au $300 (223 us I think) so thats why I'm considering itRedfish wrote:I have one of those saved in eBay, but can't seem to pull the trigger. Considering a tatula ct type r sets us back au $320 here... $20 more than the silver wolf on sale... I think the silver wolf is a good deal

For sure, it shocks me. I would love to start an online business that does the trade of dollar and shipping, etc. I think there'd be some good money to be made and helping people get items they need would be good too. I'd go for it then if its in your range. 1016 style reels, nonetheless the CT frame have tons of modifications out too.breamtim wrote:Daiwa aus isnt exactly cheap... The previous version was just a T3 SV in the same color scheme. This one appears to be a Zillion SV TW in that same color scheme. Must be a Daiwa Australia thing. Just like the orange OG Tatula they called a Sol.

Re: Daiwa Silver Wolf SV 1016
Looks like the rods and baits are designed for bream, so maybe the reel is geared more toward bfs than the Zillion
This is the way.

Damn I wish I could find it for 300 AUD. I would be all over it.breamtim wrote:Daiwa aus isnt exactly cheap... Website says they ship international.
Have bought from these guys, ok service, but legit.
Re: Daiwa Silver Wolf SV 1016
Looks like Daiwa Australia misinform people. I doubt the Silver Wolf SV TW has a Magforce Z braking system.
They also state Steez SV TW has it

Re: Daiwa Silver Wolf SV 1016
It has arrived.
Very pleased with it. Felt a little loud and stiff out of the box but figured it would go away after a few casts (which it did). Spooled up with 15b Shinobi Braid, and a cheap Daiwa Bass X ML 6'6 rod.. Took it down to the lake and also brought my alphas sv with a major craft benkei bfs along for comparison. I cast an weighted Turbo Crawz (like a rage craw) first. Got good distance, and skipped very nicely. Cast better than the Alphas, but both skipped equally. Tied on a swim jg next- got around 30m distance on a brake setting of 10. Tied on an OSP skating frog next- managed to get 40m cast with this- without backlash on a setting of 11. Also cast a Luckycraft Sammy 65, which cast reasonable considering its not a specific light reel.
Anyone who's thinking about getting one, go for it, you won't be disappointed. Wouldn't mind comparing it side by side to my mates zillion sv. Also, i wouldn't pay full price for it. I paid $300 AU for it, and even though its a great reel, would never pay the retail of $600.
Cant seem to get the pictures to work, will post when i can
