Ryoga 1016 or Shimano Calcutta 200DC for crankbait

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Post by wirinhar » Sun Jun 25, 2017 10:33 pm

Hi All,

I am in the market for one of those 2 reels, Ryoga 1016/5.4:1 or Shimano Calcutta 200DC/first DC) for crankbait.

Has anyone have experienced with both reels???

Any ideas and inputs are much appreciated!!!

Regards,
WW

I have a Ryoga 1016H and an OG Conquest 200.

While the Conquest is great, I really like the Ryoga 1016H - one of the most solid reels I have used. It works very well with the 1016 SV spools, too.
