Shimano Calcutta Conquest 200
Thinking about purchasing the 200 size Calcutta Conquest. Will this reel be suitable for large cranks like 10xd/ lucky craft mag skt? Would appreciate any owners thoughts on this reel.

Re: Shimano Calcutta Conquest 200
I have mine with an Avail deep spool, and I can comfortably launch Megabass I-Slide 185s. It feels a bit taxed casting around that 3.25oz mark (only accuracy wise) but below that it feels great. Currently spooled with 20lb InvizX.

Re: Shimano Calcutta Conquest 200
I own both the 100 and 200 size and I can't think of anything bad to say other than the price. Both work great for cranking because of the low gear ratio and tremendous power they produce. I have used a 10xd on the 200 for 6+ hours without getting tired. It doesn't hurt that the conquest is probably one of the smoothest casting reels ever made.

I use my 200 Conquest for deep cranking. Have it paired with a dobyns 806cb. No problems at all.

Id say the conquest 100 hg is a more verasatile reel. The 100 does not have enough ipt to be versatile with multiple techniques.DL87 wrote:I'm not trying my to thread jack here, but would you guys considered the conquest 100 a versatile reel? I'm also planning on picking one up just because I've always admire Calcutta since they had the TE models.
