Daiwa steez sv tw spool question
Daiwa steez sv tw spool question
Ive had the 7.1sh ratio for about 6 months now. Yesterday i got in the 8.1xh and i immediately thought that the spool looked real shallow. Upon looking at the specs, some odd reason the h & sh reels hold more line than the xh model. This is the FIRST time ive seen this in a reel. I haven't tried yet but im sure the spools would be interchangeable with each other. Since they are 2 different capacity spools, would they have 2 diff spool part numbers? And by the xh model having a shallower spool, does that means it'll cast farther than the h & sh models. Kinda confused as why and what was the purpose of doing this. If anyone have any logic behind this, id appreciate your input.

XH is equipped with slp works 1012 G1 sv. It's lighter and a bit faster than the standard 1016 G1 sv spool. I think they are fantastic.

The SLP 1012 G1 weighs only 9 grams. I still need to get my hands on one and compare it to the standard Slp 1012 spool in terms of performance.

Thanks for the input. I actually got to fish the xh today with a 1/4oz zoom mag 2 on my 893. I couldn't tell any more distance i was gettin compared to fishing the sh model. I always fished the sh model comfortably with the mag brake on 2. With the xh model for some reason i had more nest on 2 brake setting. It was fishable but i found better control with mag on 3. My metanium mgl xg does noticeably outcast the steez, i knew this though by fishing the sh model. But i choose the steez sv xh cause it palms better & a lighter reel for my 893

I'd like to find one of these as an ss/sv or Zillion SV TW upgrade... They aren't readily available though are they??? Or just super high priced???Hogsticker2 wrote:This4g63power wrote:XH is equipped with slp works 1012 G1 sv. It's lighter and a bit faster than the standard 1016 G1 sv spool. Japan Lure Shop. Daiwa custom parts, page 8. 110 bucks. Would probably rock n roll in an SS SV.DirtyD64 wrote:I'd like to find one of these as an ss/sv or Zillion SV TW upgrade... curious to know so is it in fact a shallower spool or is it just the reduced material making it look shallower?
