Curado K gears

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Totally agree with that but you can also add/upgrade bearings in a Curado for cheaper than stepping up to a Met.

Seems interesting that Curado gears in a Met make it significantly smoother than a Curado.
The Met, being an upper tier product, has more bearings and likely tighter tolerances. So with equal gears, it SHOULD be smoother.
In the past (up to the late 2000's) Shimano had explained their low bearing counts by saying their reel were manuf. to such tight tolerance that more bearings weren't necessary. Is that no longer the case, or are ball bearing so inexpensive now that tolerances can be looser?

Looking back, their top-tier reels have always had more bearings than lower-priced models. Maybe that's how they made the top-shelf stuff feel better/sturdier/smoother, by making the mid-grade products a little less smooth? Not sure, just a thought.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Sometimes, but doesnt that seem to be the trend accross the board?
