Steez 100H spool

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Steez 100H spool

Post by Moosehead » Thu Aug 02, 2018 12:07 pm

If you found and older Steez 100h spool the black one with the "white" dimples on it, say like under you dresser, what Daiwa reels would it fit and be an improvement?

I'm using mine in old Steez, Steez SVTW and Zillion SVTW.
They are great when ypu need more line capacity and casting heavier lures. I mean 3/8 and up.

Are they an upgrade to say the 103h spool in the TD-Z?

Yeah, I'd say so. The Steez spool is a little faster.

Might have to look for another host, after putting it in my TD-Z 103h it didn't really perform with a noticeable improvement.

I have one in a Steez SV and I think the inductor is R+
I absolutely love it.

I think R+ inductor = Steez 103 spool.

When compared head to head it seemed harder to control than even my TD-Z R+. I don't know why. It's the shallow spool Steez spool with the white dimples. Because of this it really wasn't out performing my stock TD-Z 103h. Is the magnet setup the same on the Steez 100h as the TD-Z? I'm a little confused by this...

It casts much better in the Steez reel it came in...

The mqgnets inbhe TDZ are a lot stronger than the ones in the Steez. Thats why the steez 103 spool and the Type R+ spools work well in a TDZ, but are both wild in a Steez.

ok, totally confused now, I apparently need to test it a little more.. cant figure out why it would cast better in the original Steez reel it came in than my TD-Z, and not cast as good as my TD-Z R+ reel.
