What's REALLY next for Daiwa
Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
that is going to be one fast spool.
Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
It looks like he is motioning that the mag dial is on the bottom of the side plate.
Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
I guess the thing you posted yesterday showing a possible new ss sv would be this new ct steez?joekaz wrote:It looks like he is motioning that the mag dial is on the bottom of the side plate.
Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

I'm confused... what is it???poisonokie wrote:I thought that's what the ASC was. 30mm is super small. It'll start up fast, that's for sure.

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
To hold that much line, it must have a small arbor, and that makes me wonder if the Magforce/inductor system is new.

The replacement for the Pixy/Presso UL casting reel. I meant to quote LowRange.DirtyD64 wrote:I'm confused... what is it???poisonokie wrote:I thought that's what the ASC was. 30mm is super small. It'll start up fast, that's for sure.

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
Thanks Dennis. Was just about to share the new Project T video.
Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
Funny I just cut and pasted that, someone already had it on here. I don't really understand this move... It is awesome sure, maybe it will make the current Steez SV TW cheaper, I just don't personally know what it is all about. Doesn't a smaller spool negate long distance casting potentially? Or does it not really matter???
Hopefully a Zillion version is coming, no idea whether this one is aluminum, magnesium, brass gears, etc. Looks like they fixed that trash 80mm handle though.
Maybe there will be an "A" version, bums me out that I bought my first Steez and now it will be obsolete...
30mm... Can't stop thinking how small that is, isn't the current 34mm?
I have also noticed the sideplate ring behind the handle collar no longer says Duralumin Drive Gear... Maybe that is a change...

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
The new Steez CT is likely an Aldebaran competitor and a replacement for the Pixy. Daiwa has been using the Alphas platform for a while as their finesse reel but it looks like this new Steez CT is the replacement. Stupid name though.DirtyD64 wrote:Funny I just cut and pasted that, someone already had it on here. I don't really understand this move... I would have preferred a new Steez with a shallow / super shallow 34 mm spool
Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
That is how I felt, maybe a Zillion with a version of the 1012 G1 SV, that maybe isn't quite as light as the Steez SV TW XH spool. I finesse fish 90% of the time so it's all good to me. I just figure this will be a $500 reel and that's a ways from my budget. Either way I will start a big change jar and sell some stuff to probably end up with one somehow. Really hoping the Steez CT will be cheaper price pointed.Dalleinf wrote:Daiwa spool sizesDirtyD64 wrote: 30mm... Can't stop thinking how small that is, isn't the current 34mm?

I really hope that a new Zillion is coming. 1012 SV spool, 8 or 9:1 ratio... If they must call it a CT instead of a Type R, so be it.

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa
Looks like a nice reel, but probably way out of my price range. Appears pretty wide for an ultra compact reel. Is the spool noisy? The mag dial looks recessed and only accessible from the bottom of the side plate. Should cast micro lures on 15lb or less braid with ease.dennis_rf wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf0ucSEEtog
there we go... not sure how I feel about a 30mm spool
