What's REALLY next for Daiwa

In an effort to keep threads on topic, i am starting a new thread for us to speculate about whats coming next for Daiwa or what we'd like to see.

Id like to see an updated Alphas SV. Also, a small tough reel to compete with the Bantam would be cool.

High gear ratios are always on my list as well. Imagine an 8.5 aluminum framed, brass geared reel like the Alphas. Pitching heaven.

Zillion 1012 SV TW Type R, CF handle with cork knobs, bearings throughout, Hedgehog Air HD spool bearing collaboration, all ratios in both L and R, maybe Duralumin gears? and drumroll please... Magforce 3D!

An updated Luna for those of us who can't afford a Ryoga and would prefer a true round reel, anyway

Readily available custom parts for the USDM

Also, as someone mentioned on another thread, aluminum spinning reels

An updated Luna 103 would be interesting, and the downsized Z would be great. The Shimano Bantam is a beautiful machine.

Maybe the Zillion and Tatula HD is Daiwa's Bantam??? I hope not but, worth mentioning.

Would the Z1016 fans like it as an aluminum version of the T3 minus the hood? Of course have a 90mm handle and more solid all around.

Swing for the fences.
A Magsealed, Aluminum, Digitally Controlled BFS capable reel that weighs in at 6.5oz.

Hopefully BFS makes it mainstream to the US shores.

Yes, I love my Luna 103 for general hardbait use, but I had to do a lot to get it to that status. I changed the handle (Daiwa custom 100mm blue), the spool (RCS 1016, which required a different spool pin), carbontex drag, air HD bearings, replaced the driveshaft bushing with a bearing, which required a different collar or whatever you call the part that rides inside the roller clutch, and I had to have Daiwa send me the part that holds the Magforce dial on as it was left off of mine from the factory.

I don't know if a bearing can be fitted to the base of the driveshaft or not, but I know the levelwind doesn't support one.

So if they could just get all that right from get go, anodize it black with gunmetal accents, give us the option of 5.8 or 7.2 marine bronze gears in either retrieve, while maintaining the classic machined millionaire profile, it could be legendary. They could call it Magnetar in keeping with the celestial theme.

Hello? I want a Z1016! Would prefer a Magnesium model with brass gears weighting no more than 6.5oz. And i don't want a T wing on it. Leave the sexy looking frame as is.

I am surprised at all the "z1016" talk, I was never under the impression that the z2020 was very popular.
