Good price on the new Antares, I might be a buyer. Hoping the USD to JPY is favorable come decision time.Loafer wrote:New Antares and CC DC: https://youtu.be/5eOafK-9yjA

Re: What's next for Shimano???
I would really like too see a Curado 70 with a mgl spool and a 96 mm handle.
Re: What's next for Shimano???
This is my hopes too, only thing is I figure a full size Curado K MGL will be coming due to the Scorpion MGL pictures. The 70 is such a small comfortable platform though, and could benefit from a 2019 revamp greatly. Some different gearing (have seen a few issues mentioned), extra driveshaft bearing, even a 90mm handle, and of course an MGL spool would make it one of the best reels out there. I think maybe they are hesitant to release this though because it would take from Aldebaran MGL sales??? I would go with the cheaper, aluminum framed, brass geared Curado 70 MGL much quicker than the extremely lightweight, aluminum geared, Mg framed Aldebaran MGL in that case...Blacktail 8541 wrote:I would really like too see a Curado 70 with a mgl spool and a 96 mm handle.

The new vanquish spinning reel is very interesting to me.
I love my excense 3000 and was planning on getting another.

I personally would like to see more Core Solid platforms. As much as I love my Bantams, they are a bit heavier than I’d like. I’d love to see a magnesium, Core Solid, low profile reel.

Re: What's next for Shimano???
If Shimano's pattern of updating reels after three years holds (Met 13 vs Met MGL, Curado I vs Curado K), then we might get lucky this year and see a new metanium come out
Re: What's next for Shimano???
I would definitely like to see a new Core come out as well. Such a popular reel still in the used market.MaxZmus wrote:I personally would like to see more Core Solid platforms. Since we are all dreaming.
How about a magnesium round reel.
A magnesium 50 size round reel would be awesome.

Re: What's next for Shimano???
This particular reel should be a great seller. I will tell you that after finding a killer deal on the SLX, I bit and purchased one. Its a cool little reel. And I mean "little". After I tuned it, it has been just a blast to use. I use it for my lighter applications as the build doesnt seem like a good fit for heavy braid and tearing up heavy cover. With 10lb test mono, it does great for tossing lighter t rigs, or topwaters. With that MGL spool, and adjustable settings with the brake, this one should be really nice. I would get the MGL version myself, but dont have a need for it considering I have enough reels for what the MGL would be good for. If MSRP was $100 I would consider it.domthewon wrote:There is a new Shimano SLX mgl 70 size reel posted on digitaka.

Re: What's next for Shimano???
Thanks for the input.I had a feeling that reel was gonna be good for the $. Shimano and Daiwa have been stepping it up in the more budget friendly reels. All the new reels around $100-$200 are so good for the price. For some reason I have it in my head that if these new $100 reels are this good their $500 reels must be even better. They are, but the gap in performance is getting much closer and and harder to justify for me.LgMouthGambler wrote:This particular reel should be a great seller.
