No, just the SV103, the latest iteration of the OG Zillion with a 34mm spool. The SS SV is decidedly not a frogging reel.

The auction is the first thing you'd think of for online bidding.

I have a SV103 paired with my XXPP. They are hard to beat for the money. There has been some for sale in the classifieds lately.

Built like a tank and balances out very well on the xx perfect pitch. I have no issues with casting distance using sv spools. I’m not sure why a lot of people think they’re just for lighter baits. Plenty of times I’ve hit my spool knot using #30 braid on a couple of my sv spools. The sv103 steez with rcs 1012sv spool being one of those. Should be able to find the reel for about $200-225 used, when one pops up for sale.
thanks for your input
is that the daiwa ss sv103?
No not that one. It’s just called a SV103. It’s now discontinued but they do come up for sale.

The SV103 with Zillion 50th 7.3 gears is my new jam.

I feel the 7.3s have ever so slightly more power, slightly slower, but seem much more durable. I replaced 2 sets of 7.9s for getting rough after two seasons. The 7.3 I have is well seasoned and still smooth as glass.

I just put 7.3 gears into my 7.9 sv103. I did it to slow the reel down a bit so it could be used for some other techniques. My 6.3 and 7.9 are still super smooth.

It is crazy that both my 7.9s got rough quick. I sent them to the tackle trap and the gears of replaced free of charge. But it was frustrating. I ordered the 7.3s from Plat and love them. Like you said, it is a great all around speed.

Also, the 7.3s were super cheap compared to the replacement 7.9s.

My buddy just ordered a set of 6:3 and 7:9 gears from PLAT and his total with shipping was $74. Both sets were about $30 I would guess. That’s how I got the 7:3 set I have. $20 for the gears and new carbontex washers. I couldn’t pass it up.

Awesome guys thanks for all the helpful info.
Got a lot to chose from.

Since were talking about gears, I always wondered.....what does upgrading the reel handles actually do?
Is it more for looks or does it perform any better?

It can give you more "power" when using a longer handle
