Ultralight Spinning Reel for Wading
Ultralight Spinning Reel for Wading
I am looking for an ultralight spinning reel I can use while walking the rivers (wet wading) for small mouth. I have had problems in the past where reels have locked up since they can get submerged or very wet during this type of fishing.

Anything from the Shimano Nasci up is sealed.
A 1000 size Stradic CI4+ would be a good one, or even better a 1000 size Stella

With Daiwa there is the Fuego LT 1000 great reel and are crazy smooth with Mag seal, For the money you can't beat them, up the ladder from there is the Ballistic LT 1000/2000 with Mag seal, they are all super light and smooth as butter.

Re: Ultralight Spinning Reel for Wading
I'll vote for a Daiwa Luvias (harder to find) though I am sooo close to pulling the trigger on a Certate LT.
I really like the mag seal. I haven't had any issues with them yet.

I am liking the idea of the Mag-Seal. I have a Certate but never knew it had this technology.

If you really mean ultra light and not light tackle.......look into the Tica Cetus SB500 or SB800

I have been using a 1000 Ci4+ for wet wading for like 2-3 years now and it is still going strong after many dunkings and a few falls onto sandbars.
I have an 1000 FJ that is older and has seen more use and abuse including a lot of brackish use. This winter I might send it in for a deep clean and tune up but it’s still nice and smooth.
