Steez A Spool Help
I'm thinking about puting a different spool in my steez A. I was thinking about getting a ZPI NRC001PG from tackletrap . Would the ZPI NRC001M be better in that reel for any reason? I also have an extra Steez SV TW spool I could put in it, or should I take the spool out of my Zillion SV TW but then I'd need a spool for the zillion. I was also thinking about the pg spool for my sv103 but that will be something I figure out after the steez A.
It's going to be on a jig and worm rod, MH with lure weights likely being 3/8-5/8 oz (could be slightly under or over). I normally use fluorocarbon but I'm also interested in possibly trying out braid.
I've been doing research and it looks like people like the zillion spool but I haven't seen anything in stock for a reasonable price. I saw a lot of people like the 001m in the steez sv tw (bought a used on to try in that) but some people felt the 001pg and steez sv tw spool weren't as good. (Others like the pg)
Lastly, those who have used the steez a and some of the spools listed, should I stick with stock spool or is it worth buying the Zpi?
Thanks in advance

Hello, Friend!
If you do not have prejudices against Chinese fishing gear, you can look at this spool: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=80168
I bought it for Steez SV TW, but it fits for Steez A too. Spool has 4 position fixed inductor and made for using with PE lines.

Either Zpi spool or the Steez SV TW spool would be solid choices.

Do you think the Zpi spools would be a lot better than the steez sv tw spool? If so would you get a second m spool or a PG to have one of each?

Get the PG, and get it while you can. That PG spool is amazing and more controlled than the M in my experience. Furthermore, the ZPI spools do come with a set of ZPI spool bearings that are $30+ which really increases the value in the purchase because those are some extremely high quality bearings!chrisg_sdcf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 1:06 amDo you think the Zpi spools would be a lot better than the steez sv tw spool? Yes, the PG works nicely in the sv103 platform as well. There is only one blue PG remaining and a few gold and red...chrisg_sdcf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 7:47 amI'll be ordering today most likely (of you still have some) Do you know of the pg also works well in the sv103?

Does the extra bearing for the palm plate fit the SV 103, steez a, and steez sv tw?bronzefly wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 7:57 amYes, the PG works nicely in the sv103 platform as well. Re: Steez A Spool Help
The palm plate bearing included with the ZPI PG and M spools for Daiwa is the 3x10x4 or 1030 size. It's applicable to the reels that accept that palm plate bearing indeed!chrisg_sdcf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 3:19 pmDoes the extra bearing for the palm plate fit the SV 103, steez a, and steez sv tw?bronzefly wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 7:57 amYes, the PG works nicely in the sv103 platform as well. Awesome, thank you. I bought a red one and a gold one. Do the bearings come oiled already or do I need to buy oil too?bronzefly wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 4:26 pmThe palm plate bearing included with the ZPI PG and M spools for Daiwa is the 3x10x4 or 1030 size. They are oiled, but its always nice to have some quality oil on hand in between cleanings. There are several options available on The Tackle Trap site. Enjoy those spools, Thank you!chrisg_sdcf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 7:30 pmAwesome, thank you. I bought a red one and a gold one. Do the bearings come oiled already or do I need to buy oil too?

Re: Steez A Spool Help
One last question. Does it matter which direction I install the bearing in the palm plate?

Re: Steez A Spool Help
Got all 3 Zpi spools and bearings installed. Need to do a few things to my boat and then I'll get to try them out. Just in case someone else doesn't know. The bearing included does not fit the palm plate of the sv103. I had to order a Zpi 3x8x4. Man that reel is smooth.bronzefly wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 4:26 pmThe palm plate bearing included with the ZPI PG and M spools for Daiwa is the 3x10x4 or 1030 size.
