Chatterbait reel
Re: Chatterbait reel
You are allowed to reel a slower reel faster too. It’ll be the next revolutionary discovery in bass fishing.

Re: Chatterbait reel
Agreed!
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
Re: Chatterbait reel
I think the way most people’s brains are wired, they’re more capable of reeling faster when needed. Watching people try to reel ultra high gear ratios very slowly, it doesn’t seem like it’s a good fit for some people.
Figure out what reel handle length matches your natural cranking motion and look out. You can warp drive any bait if you find the right match, regardless of gear ratio.
The dead space argument, whatever. If you’ve got say 20 feet or less at the end of a cast you want to burn in, it’s not gonna matter much if you take 7 cranks or 10. Cmon.
If you’ve constantly got 50+ feet of dead space... learn to move your boat better.

Currently using a Bantam HG and love it.
Re: Chatterbait reel
I use a 14 Calcutta 101 spooled with 14lb SunLine Fuoro sniper on a 7'2 Shimano Exage MH rod, I don't think you need a special reel to throw Chatterbaits just get something your comfortable with and get to fishing.
Re: Chatterbait reel
Whatever you like for spinnerbaits is probably also a good fit.
