That was fast. You must have pulled the trigger the 1st day it hit JLS. So it doesn't feel choked off, or underwhelming on the cast... Unlike the SV103 kinda did? Can you post some closer shots of the engine and cast cap plates pretty please?

My jerkbait game has been strong with this one the past couple days. Not looking forward to going back to work...

Pretty sure this is a Daiwa Japan only reel.

Daiwa USA version will be coming later.
The Zillion 10 is on Daiwa US website.

Anyone have updated reports on how the reel is working out for them? I'm going to be building a new rod and will need a reel for it.

I love this reel. I don’t get better distance than the original sv tw, but I feel it’s slightly more effortless. There were a couple instances during the FL spawn months ago when I hooked into big girls and it was a bit hard to get those 10:1 gears a crankin after hookset. The torque issue is just a bit more noticeable than with the 9:1. It’s smooth and refined as one would expect at that price point and that has not changed. Ive fished it practically every day since I got it and it’s remained as smooth as day 1. I’ve been thinking about getting a backup, which I typically don’t do. I’ve been wondering if these ultra high speed zillions are selling and if not and they go away, I’d really like to have another for a rainy day. There’s just been other priorities. It’s obviously way too fast for cranking, but I use it for applications where line pick up is helpful and it’s stuck on a jerkbait rod currently because it really fits the way I fish those.

I want that palming plate for my old Tatula Type R. They do fit if it the same dimensions as the Tatula CT. It looks like a Tatula CT so it should work.

I ended up buying a old stock Metanium for a lot less. It was hard for me to pay $320 on a reel not made in Japan.

Can’t go wrong there. Unless either the ease of casting with sv or the super high retrieve ratio are desired features, this zillion iteration is not a must have reel.

Has anybody tried putting lower ratio gears in their Zillion 10 yet?

I am surprised no one questioned what line was being used in the video. Very unusual color. Any idea?

Has anyone used the zillion 10 in salt yet? Such a high price tag but heard they got basic bearings in them.

I own both a 10 and a regular sv tw. I took the regular Sv TW in salt for a week long trip knowing there were going to be likely consequences. Cleaned it up as best as a regular dude can after. Anyway, based on that experience, I can’t imagine taking the 10 in salt would be a good idea. I won’t.

I fish with a sv tw in the salt all the time, what are you expecting for consequences?

Mine was just never quite the same after that trip. Works; just not like it used to.

Clutch will stick now and again, randomly gears will stiffen up and then loosen back up; the zero adjuster is no longer really of any function, not like it was anyway. Just little things. I’m sure it could all be fixed if I cared about it. I just pop the thumb bar in place after each cast with my thumb so as not to miss a hook set and power through reaping when it locks up now and again.

When people buy these reels - does anyone actually consider getting them pre serviced? It would avoid the issues of things gumming up and corroding.
