Daiwa Steez Air 2020

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Any update on the new KTF spool?
[/quote]

Oh,yea! "Das is fantastish!" :D I spool 100m of Gosen Tiny PE Aji #0.2,and this spool cast easy 0.5g total weight...even a 0.35g jig I'm able to cast overhead  close to 30 feet. Of course with good rod (test up to 3g)...So,I'm holding a bunch of really UL reels and spools, but this set-up is fantastic! If you can get it, the rest of your staff you can give to kids and wife for fishing
Seriously,it's atomic bomb for UL fishing.
On pic weight without bearing

What rod are you using? That is impressive casting weight. Are you havung to cast hard to get that distance? What bearings are you using?

It's really hard to find a baitcaster for this kind of fishing...hopefully they're start to produce some!
For now,I'm trying spinning rods, and,if its feet, redo it to casting. What kind,it's depend what lure you used. I prefer stiff rods with good amount of carbon (95-98%),and which loading at least 50% of blank when you cast, even better 70-80%. Good example of this kind of rods is Gamakatsu Hana(All set ,from 54 to 69 leight). Also now I'm testing Nories Katsu-Aji 69 and Daiwa Presso AGS 54XUL-S
And bearing is stock,IXA i think, just cleaning and add drop of Alchemy oil from Hedgehog Studio
And cast is comfortable, reel has a good range of tuning magnet brakes(not like on oldest models, when "4" is too match, and "3" is birdnest)

^^^Holy cow, that's insanely light!^^^
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Yeah. And starting energy with this small diameter is ridiculously low..

Thanks for the update! Hows the bearing? Is it a little on the louder side?

Looks to be same bearing as on 30mm spools which are little louder, comparing alphas air tw and momo CT spool, momo is little louder......I've replaced momo spool bearing with HH air bfs and it is noticably quiter that stock momo and alphas air tw.

I replace all my BFS spools w/ RC car bearings by Kyosho. Bearings are high grade Made in Japan bearings and silent :)

Finally arrived! Roro Steez Air/ Alphas Air TW spool. Quality is top notch just like all my other roro spools. On all my bfs spools I swap out the bearing to my go to Kyosho R/C car bearings.
