Daiwa Steez Air 2020

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

How od you like those kyosho bearings compared to hedghog bfs bearings?

They are my personal favorite. Im not a big fan of ceramic bearings in spools just because it makes the spool loud when casting. I like my setups to feel ultra smooth on the cast and retrieve. The Kyosho bearing is also .1 gram lighter than the stock roro bearing.

So is mine. It's screaming thank you for having no interest in this reel!
That was my first thought. Knowing myself, I will become interested before next summer when trout season kicks in...
Well, next summer is now. I finally broke down and the reel on the way. I am suprised that I held out this long (“goes on to pad himself on the back - good boy”)

I think with this new micro sized spool they need a new super duper ultra lightweight solid tipped ags rod to go with it...
I will be pairing mine with a Daiwa Air AGS Long Distance Finesse:

Also on the way...

Yes, I believe they have a large rod factory in Scotland. I know that some (supposedly fantastic) salmon rods have been made there (e.g. Daiwa Whisker).

From an online retailer:

Daiwa UK office was set up in 1977 in Whishaw, Scotland, where it remains to this day. Daiwa Sports Ltd have a full range of products specifically designed for carp, coarse, game, lure, sea and specialist fishing – with expert consultants dedicated to each aspect of the fishing experience. Scotland now boasts Daiwa’s largest factory outside the Far East. This means that a large majority of the Daiwa fishing rods and poles sold in the UK have been built and designed in the UK, with UK anglers, and the specific challenges they face, in mind.
