Megabass Lin / Daiwa Ryoga 1016 Spool Options

Love the Lin platform and have never messed with any other spool options than the standard Lin spool. Looking to convert one Lin into an even higher line capacity for heavy baits only (2-3+ ounces minimum). Also considering converting one to a short pitching BFS-type reel (yes I know that’s an odd frame choice).

What are some of the best spool options out there for deeper spools or BFS type in a Lin/Ryoga frame? I’m not a Daiwa spool expert at all and feel uneducated in all the different aftermarket styles of spools out there for the job but willing to track down hard to find spools as needed if I know what to look for.

They take 1016 spools like the modern Steez and Zillions. Older 103 spools will work to some degree but may require spacers to have any spool tension.

In the wide world of Daiwa spools what’s most worth searching out for those applications?

Steez 100 spool is obviously biggest capacity spool in this range:

Steez 100 looks to be the same capacity as the Lin10, 16/100.
