Your favorite obscure reels

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Abu 1600C IAR is another favorite of mine. Just a couple thousand of these were made between '98 and '00 until Pure Fishing took over operations from Abu Garcia and mostly did away with the platform.

While it looks nearly the same as its cousin, the 1500C, the brake plate is completely different and the design would find its way to the Morrum on the future.

As you can see, cut from a different loaf of bread than the others.
