Favorite Aldebaran Model

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Favorite Aldebaran Model

I’ve gained a liking to the 50e reels but now more and more looking at the 2015 alde bfs xg. I never pulled the trigger on one and I should have.
But I do love my alde MG7. What are your favorites in this model?

I like the 12/15 BFS and the current frame (15, 16 BFS, MGL, Stile).

I havent had much experience with the MGL because its winter here.

although its not named the aldebaren i am fond of the core 50, and i just picked up a aldebaren 50mgl a few weeks back. I held off on this reel due to the cosmetics which i wasnt a super fan of lol. After getting it and using it a bit its quite the performer for sure ive not played with super light weights and casting because its on a jerkbait rod but it will launch those with ease.

It’s all the same I guess
I saw you had picked it up and good buy.
I use mine from punching to dropshotting. Truly an exceptional reel and not many can follow suit.

09Aldebaran. Love that reel. Especially with the Avail honeycomb spool. I love using it for tiny baits and catching Cichlids with light line and a noodle pole.

I've got an 09 MG Aldebaren. Bought it used once for a absolute song back in 2010...

Such a pleasure to use but have the Curado / Chronarch variations which are more saltwater safe for us here.

The design is far easier on the eye than later iterations.

I love the '09 model. I have 3 of them as well as a Core 51mg. I also have a '15 model, but it is lacking something, although I can't pinpoint what. I just know I reach for the older one first, every time.

Jdm alde 30 mgl hg. Holds plenty of 12lb sniper, weightless fluke in the summer & vision 110 in the winter. Mounted on a 7’2m 1st gen poison adrena, it’s just fun to fish
