Shimano Bantam USDM vs JDM

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I’m looking to get a new Bantam soon and was curious if the are any major differences between the USDM and JDM versions.

I have a US version in the HG and JDM version in the PG.
Could just be my particular reels but the HG has more play in the handle than the PG.
On another note the HG feels smoother on the retreive than the PG.

What is the difference between an HG and a PM reel? Is it a gear ratio thing?
