Yes, but this is new small spool and currently only one swap possibility, KTF, which obviously is slightly lighter and I think it has similar capacity than original.

In my opinion current ct Alphas is pretty perfect power finesse reel :) And with KTF spool it's good finesse reel :) But still I'm thinking I must buy that Alphas Air. :)
I completely agree and would likely already own the Alphas CT, but I just wish it had a faster retrieve. I appreciate your thoughts.

Yes Air is faster. It retrieves 75 cm per turn. ct Alphas retrieves 67 cm per turn. Because of difference in spool diameters difference in retrieve is not bigger, but still something 12%.

No. The plus is that they are a site sponsor so, it helps TackleTour maintain the forums and review site. Whenever possible, when you visit any of the sites listed at the top of the page, click the icon. It tracks traffic TT brings their website. Doesnt cost you anything and helps the TT crew out.

I can't decide if I want a new rod to go with it. I am in this perpetual search on the web from Covid boredom.

What rod would you put it on that you have now?

Daiwa Wisestream 62LB-3 or a Megabass Triza F0-63XTZ. I also have a Gloomis CR-842-2 but it already has a reel. I would be using this rod for trout. I am not a fan of short rods, like you use in your trout fishing.

Speaking of rods, any suggestions for UL bfs rod 6 to 6.5 feet, 2 piece, 1/32 to 1/4 lure weight, under $150

I have a 6'1 Phenix Mirage I use for the bigger trout. I do like me a 4'6" rod though. \:D/

I bought the Megabass because I hooked something in one of my headwater streams that instantly was pulling drag and going nuts. Straightened my hooks and spit the lure. I had absolutely no control. The Megabass although rated a 0, has a lot more power.

Here's a in depth video comparing the new Alphas Air TW and the Steez Air TW:
https://youtu.be/o-IBipmjRpc
There seems to be a difference between both KTF spools, despite weighing the same. The inductors of the spools are different, with the Steez Air spool-inductor being a bit smaller. Also the magnets in the sideplates differ. :? Steez Airs sideplate arrangement seems to be a bit more compact, with stronger magnets. Alphas Air TW magnets are bigger, maybe to keep the costs low.

Also in ct Alphas vs. ct Steez has same kind of differences in KTF spools... At least positioning/move of inductor.
