Shimano claims this reel brings in 31" per handle turn. It has a 6.0:1 ratio. I wonder how this can be.
I own a Stradic 1000 FMg with the same ratio. I measured its retrieve as 26.5" per handle turn fully spooled with 4 lb. mono.
Unless the spool diameter and/or the oscillation speed has greatly increased, I don't see how the 1000 FK can bring in that much more line. Does anyone own it, and can you tell me--by your actual measurement--how much line it brings in per handle turn when filled to the bottom of the lip bevel?
Also, if you happen to own both the 1000FMg and the 1000FK, can the spools of the former be used on the latter?

Re: Stradic 1000HGFK retrieve speed?
Aren't the spools on the Stradic 1000 Mg versions just a slightly smaller?
I have the MgB and the spool lip is smaller like a mm or two.

slip bobbing is the laziest way to fish
Re: Stradic 1000HGFK retrieve speed?
The spool lip of my Stradic 1000MgFB has a diameter of 39 mm. The gap from the bottom of the spool lip bevel to the front of the spool skirt is 13.5 mm.
Slipperybob, when you say the spool lip is smaller, do you have both this reel and the 1000FK? Have you tried interchanging the spools?
My FMgB works just fine, but there are some stretches of trout stream where I could use more retrieve speed.

Re: Stradic 1000HGFK retrieve speed?
The spool from the 1000FK will not work on the stradic 1000MgFB.
The spool will bottom out and scrape against the rotor.
Plus the spool will be wobbly since the Fk spool is designed for a bearing on the shaft, which the MgFB doesn't have.
1000FK spool lip is about 42mm.
1000MgFB spool lip is about 39.5 cm
The IPT is more likely just a marketing number.
Much like how car manufacturers showcase miles per gallon.
