Hi, I'm looking for a new baitcaster from 200-250$. I will be using it for bank fishing and would like it to be a great all-rounder. I through heavy baits and light baits. I really can't make my mind up on what to get and I have 0 brand bias. I'm currently using a lew's match 2 baitcasting combo.

The Tackle Trap has the 2020 Daiwa Tatula SV TW 103, good all around reel. Add in the TT10 discount and save an extra $.

Depends what you want out of it. There best all around reel for me has constantly been the curado series. Over the years I've never been disappointed in a curado. And I'm also pretty happy with the svs Infiniti breaks which makes adjustments on the fly so easy.

I’d go with a good condition used OG Steez 103 from one of the Japan sites for around $170

On the light side, I throw 1/8 oz texas rigs, and sometimes I'll through a weightless wacky rig. The heaviest bait I have in my tackle box is a 3/4 oz spinnerbait, and I don't see myself throwing anything much heavier.

I'd grab a Zillion SV TW. As money permits, pick up a Zpi Nrc001-m spool to use with it. Another option would be the Alphas SV or Alphas CT.

Yes, I have read through that review about 3 times now. It's just so hard to pick and choose. I went to some stores near me to take a look at some reels, but they didn't have any of the ones I'm interested in.

Wouldn't an OG Steez 100 be better? From what I've read the 103 can be hairy with lighter weights unless you change the spool (RCS 1016 works great per Mr. Skinner). I picked up one recently from him, but no chance to use it yet. I've also read that some 103's are worse than others. The little I've been able to use my OG Steez 100 has been trouble free casting.

The original Steez 103 comes with a Type R+ spool. It is made to handle lighter than standard baits. The 100 comes with a standard Magforce V which is fine for baits 3/8 oz and up.

The 100 spool in the original Steez reels is actually Mag Z breaking. More forgiving and easier to use for general casting duties

Thank you... V, Z ... the point was the original 103 was special but unappreciated and they came out with the 100 to handle general purpose work because the 103 was not fully understood in the USDM.

Edit: didn't intend that to sound so stern ... sorry about that Fishin4Fun, I really did appreciate you pointing out that detail.

Scorpion MGL HG! Yes, it's a curado, but it looks better and has that JDM cool factor! Got mine for $188 on eBay.

Personally, i would stay far away from anything Tatula aka the cancer of Daiwa *in my opinion*. As some have mentioned, an OG steez would be excellent, and so is a TDZ in good condition, an OG Alphas or even a 2013 Metanium that can be had for way under $250, and in very good condition.
